Strength for Life at Bayswater Waves

As part of the transition in preparation for the Morley Sport & Recreation Centre Gym closure on Monday 30 September 2025, the Recreation team has begun actively introducing Strength for Life (SFL) participants to new training environments and formats.

To help ease this transition and give participants the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the Bayswater Waves gym, an SFL Introduction and Trial Session will be held at Bayswater Waves on Thursday 4 September at 12:00pm.

What to Expect

Participants will begin the session with a tour and demonstration of Bayswater Waves’ gym equipment, led by Lorraine, Cherie and the team, who will highlight key differences and similarities between Waves and Morley. The group will then move to the Group Fitness Room to experience the warm-up and stretching components of a typical Strength for Life class.

This initiative follows a successful trial circuit session held on Thursday 14 August, where 24 participants attended and 16 provided feedback. Many appreciated the structured, consistent exercise format, while some expressed a preference for traditional gym workouts. This valuable input is guiding our efforts to offer a program that meets participant needs and expectations.

Why It Matters

With the upcoming gym closure at Morley, it’s important to support a smooth and positive transition for our valued SFL community. These introductory sessions not only allow participants to explore the facilities at Bayswater Waves but also ensure they feel welcomed and supported by familiar staff in a new environment.

We strongly encourage all current SFL members at Morley to attend the introduction and help shape the future of the program through their feedback. The team will also be present at Morley prior to the session to ensure everyone is aware of the opportunity and feels encouraged to attend.

Let’s make this a welcoming and empowering new chapter for our Strength for Life participants at Bayswater Waves!
