Think you’ve got the stamina to go the distance? It’s time to put your endurance to the test with our August gym challenge – the Hold-athlon.
Running from 1–31 August at Bayswater Waves & The RISE, the Hold-athlon is a fun, fast and friendly competition open to all fitness levels. Whether you’re training regularly or just looking for some motivation to move more this winter, this is your chance to take on the challenge, track your progress, and go in the running to win.
What is the Hold-athlon?
The Hold-athlon consists of three timed static exercises designed to challenge your strength and stamina:
- Wall Sit
- Plank
- Dead Hang
Each movement is held for as long as possible, with every second adding to your total score. The maximum time per activity is 3 minutes (180 seconds)—so the challenge can be completed in under 10 minutes total. Leaderboards will be on display in the gym to track top results and keep the competition fun and motivating.
Competition Categories
- Top Male and Female Performers – those with the highest overall combined time
- Best Age-Adjusted Score – factoring in your age for a fair handicap ranking
- Optional: Show team spirit and earn bonus entries by tagging us in your challenge attempts on social media!
Who Can Participate?
All active gym members are welcome to take part, and visitors using a casual pass are also encouraged to give it a go.
Whether you’re in it to win it, aiming to beat your personal best, or just want to challenge yourself in a new way—this is a great chance to engage with your fitness goals in a supportive and fun setting.
How to Enter
It’s easy to take part—just speak to a staff member at either gym and let them know you’re ready to go. They’ll guide you through the process, set your times, and log your score on the leaderboard.
