Kids Holiday Programs

City of Bayswater Recreation is excited to announce its April Kids Holiday Programs, returning to Morley Sport & Recreation Centre and The RISE this April.

Designed for children aged 5–12 years, these fun and engaging sessions give kids the chance to stay active, creative and social throughout the school holidays. From sport and science to cooking and crafts, the program offers a wide variety of activities to keep young minds and bodies busy.

Across both centres, children can take part in hands-on workshops, sporting clinics, creative activities and team challenges, all delivered in a safe, supportive and high-energy environment by experienced facilitators.

What to Expect

Each clinic is designed to keep kids engaged, learning and having fun while developing new skills.

Bricks & Sticks

A hands-on building and creativity session where kids tackle fun LEGO-style challenges including team builds, design tasks and collaborative engineering activities. Perfect for imaginative young builders who enjoy problem-solving and teamwork.

Basketball Beginners (5–8 yrs)

Young players are introduced to the fundamentals of basketball including dribbling, passing, shooting and defence through fun drills, relay games and modified match play. Ideal for kids learning the sport in a supportive environment.

Basketball Intermediate (8–12 yrs)

Designed for players with some experience, this clinic builds game awareness, ball control, shooting technique and defensive skills through structured drills and competitive games.

Dance & Drama Workshop

A creative performance session combining acting, movement and storytelling. Participants explore drama games, character work and dance routines, finishing with a short showcase for parents.

Mini Chefs – Easter Special

Kids develop kitchen confidence while preparing fun Easter-themed treats such as chocolate crackle nests and savoury snacks. Along the way they learn basic food preparation, kitchen safety and teamwork.

Multi-Sport

An energetic program introducing children to a range of sports including soccer, basketball and dodgeball. Skill-based drills, small games and team challenges keep the session active and exciting.

Mad Science

Young scientists take part in exciting experiments and discovery-based challenges including chemical reactions, engineering activities and hands-on science demonstrations designed to spark curiosity.

Amazing Race

Inspired by the popular adventure format, teams complete a series of themed challenges involving physical activities, puzzles and creative problem-solving as they “travel” around the world.

Crazy Craft – Easter Special

Children get creative with a range of Easter-themed crafts including decorations, bunny ears and colourful art projects while developing fine motor skills and imagination.

Net Sports

Participants learn the basics of pickleball, badminton and volleyball through fun drills, rally games and friendly matches, building coordination and teamwork along the way.
